Opened in 1974, the Teatro-Museo Dalí houses the most extensive collection of works by Salvador Dalí and offers an essential experience to explore his creative universe. From his early artistic experiments to his iconic surrealist masterpieces and works from his final years, the museum provides a fascinating journey through his entire career.
Considered the largest surrealist object in the world, the museum occupies the former Municipal Theatre of Figueres, transformed by Dalí himself into a total work of art. Inside, visitors can discover over 1,500 pieces spanning multiple disciplines: painting, drawing, sculpture, engraving, installations, holograms, photography, and stereoscopic works, along with pieces by artists admired by Dalí.
The complex has been enriched with unique spaces added during and after Dalí’s lifetime, such as the Crypt—where the artist is buried—the Galatea Tower, and the Dalí Jewels rooms, completing a truly unique cultural experience.

The Teatro-Museo Dalí includes two main museum areas. The first is the former burnt theatre, transformed into a museum following Dalí’s own vision and design (rooms 1 to 18), conceived as a single artistic object where every element is an inseparable part of the whole. The second consists of rooms created through later extensions (rooms 19 to 24), expanding and enriching the exhibition.
The visit includes 24 rooms. However, in keeping with Dalí’s free and provocative spirit, no fixed route is recommended—visitors are encouraged to explore at their own pace.
The experience also includes:

Wheelchair access is available via Plaça Gala Dalí (terrace area), with prior notice to museum staff. Accessible areas include the central courtyard (with the Rainy Cadillac installation), the stage under the dome, the Treasure Room, the ground floor, the crypt, and the Fishmongers’ Hall. Adapted restrooms are available, although some areas of the museum are not accessible.
