Opened in 1974, the Dalí Theatre-Museum houses the most extensive collection of the artist's works, offering the ideal setting to explore his career, from his early creative experiences and iconic surrealist creations to the works of his later years.
Dalí Theatre-Museum
The Dalí Theatre-Museum, the world's largest surrealist object, occupies the former Municipal Theatre of Figueres.
The Dalí Theatre-Museum showcases the artist's largest
collection, comprising over 1,500 pieces in all styles and formats (paintings,
drawings, sculptures, prints, stereoscopic works, installations, holograms,
photographs, etc.), as well as works by artists admired by Salvador Dalí.
New spaces were also added during Dalí's later years and
after his death, such as the Crypt, the Galatea Tower, and the Dalí Jewels
galleries.

Itinerary and Spaces to Visit
The Dalí Theatre-Museum encompasses two museum spaces.
The first is the former theatre, which burned down and was transformed into a Theatre-Museum based on Salvador Dalí's own design and criteria (rooms 1 to 18). This complex of spaces forms a single artistic object, where each element is an inseparable part of the whole. The second is the set of rooms resulting from the progressive expansions of the Dalí Theatre-Museum (rooms 19 to 24).

The Dalí Theatre-Museum comprises two museum spaces:
- The first is the former theatre, which burned down and was transformed into a Theatre-Museum based on Salvador Dalí's own design and vision (rooms 1 to 18). This collection of spaces forms a single artistic object where each element is intrinsically linked to the whole.
- The second is the set of rooms resulting from successive expansions of the Theatre-Museum (rooms 19 to 24).
The tour consists of 24 rooms. Given the unique character of Salvador Dalí, the inspiration behind the Dalí Theatre-Museum, it might be advisable not to follow any pre-planned route.
The rooms close 15 minutes before closing time.
Wheelchair access is via Plaza Gala Dalí, in the terrace bar area, after notifying museum staff in advance. The following areas are accessible by wheelchair: the central courtyard with the Rainy Cadillac installation; the stage area, where visitors can enjoy the space beneath the dome and a selection of Salvador Dalí's iconic works in the Treasure Room; the ground floor and the area beneath the stage, where the painter's crypt, drawings, prints, etc., are located; and an exhibition of paintings from various periods in the Fishmongers' Room. The Museum has restrooms for people with reduced mobility. Unfortunately, the rest of the museum is not wheelchair accessible.
